Everything is proceeding as planned with the installation of Santa Anita's new dirt surface and we are all excited here as to playing the ponies when they start racing over it on Sunday, December 26! If you haven't been apart of watching the installation, click here to watch now! http://santaanita.com/content/workout-webcam
We hope the other tracks will then follow Santa Anita's lead and tear up the synthetic crap that has been a big part in ruining racing in California and driving down the handle.
Premier Pegasus sure did look good winning the Grade III $100,000 Hollywood Prevue on Saturday. Trained by Myung Kwon Cho and ridden by Alonso Quinonez, the 2-year-old son of Fusaichi Pegasus drew away late and returned $6 to his backers. Winning for the third time in three lifetime efforts, the colt kept his unbeaten mark in tact and is sure a force to be reckoned with down the road. he's owned by M K Cho Stables LLC.
Perhaps the most impressive performance of the week was turned in by Turbulent Descent for trainer Mike Puype under David Flores at $3.40. The 2-year-old daughter of Congrats (A.P. Indy) took down the $100,000 Moccasin in impressive fashion while really never being asked by her rider. Now a perfect two for two, she was coming off an impressive maiden win while earning a nice Beyer number of 91. Owned by Blinkers On Racing Stables et al, look for promising things down the road from this filly.
Remember race fans, early first post on Turkey Day at Hollywood Park of 11:00 A.M. Don't forget to take us with you when you head out to the track! Sign up now for winning selections by visiting http://horseracing-selections.com/
